Thanks to everybody for a great birthday party! It looks like the next 50 is off to a good start!

It’s always a good time visiting family and friends in San Diego…especially when we celebrate my 50th birthday. As we often do on these trips, JP and I stayed with my dad and stepmother in the Tierrasanta area. They live on the edge of Mission Trails Regional Park and we can’t resist the temptation to walk, run or ride some of these trails whenever we are here.

Yesterday, for sunset, we went on an hour hike and decided to get out on a longer hike this morning before heading to the beach for our last two days in So Cal. Our goal, the Fortuna Mountain loop.

An overcast day, with a rather misty start, took us on a 7+ mile trek. We spent just over 3.5 hours, stopping for Nutella sandwiches and photos at the summits of North and South Fortuna Mountains.
